Shadows A playful dance across the walls Wisps and twirls as night falls Here they beckon, here they pull I watch their rhythm, a gentle lull "Come out to play." Night grows darker, so do they Their gnashing teeth and claws, no longer held at bay I've seen them all; I've seen too much. Of this my Creatures of Mind know of such "Come out to play." My fear not vanquished, just hidden away Here in my dreams, I begin to sway "Come in; come with us!" The constant jeer It's in this blackness all is clear "Come out to play." A disfigured hand joined in mine A pact of darkness, forever entwined Where I sit, where I write For now I'm a shadow
